.....it's a disaster.....http://www.teamm14.com/images/smilies/t2712.gif

...he said he's going to have to "re-brand" it to sell it to a skeptical public.

He didn't use the word "Obamacare" once on Tuesday in talking about his health care law, but he mentioned the "Affordable Care Act" seven times.

"We are going to have to, (a) fix the website so everybody feels confident about that. We're going to have to, obviously, re-market and re-brand, and that will be challenging in this political environment."

Obama isn't the only Democrat moving away from the term "Obamacare." Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told NBC's David Gregory on Sunday that she has always preferred to call it the "Affordable Care Act." "It -- the Affordable Care Act, as I call it -- Pelosi chuckles -- and have always called it; the Affordable Care Act is right up there with Social Security, Medicare, affordable care for all Americans as a right, not a privilege," she said on "Meet the Press."

If you can't sell snake-oil, change the name!

It was and is Obamacare. You can change the name of a toxic waste dump, but you can't change what it is.

Edited to add: Here's why they want to "rebrand":

Obama, Obamacare in polling freefall

A new CBS News poll shows President Obama and his health insurance law are in virtual free fall. The president's approval stands at 37% - down a whopping 9 points in just a month.

Obamacare is faring even worse. Approval for the law is down to 31% with Obamacare disapproval at 61% - its highest ever in the CBS poll.

And for the lurking DUmmies that love to blame GWB, the same poll (done at a different time, of course) put GWB at 35.

Hurry up, Barry! You can catch George and actually pass him! [on the way to the basement]. :biggrin-new:

Its shame... but it couldnt be where it is today w/o the help of the French Republican establishment. The Democrat party should call themselves the Socialist Party. Then the current GOP leadership could adopt the name 'Democrat Party'. Then, we the people could use 'the Republican Party' and it would actually mean something. There would actually be some contrast ...

Im thinking 0bamaBoehner Care. The Unaffordable Care Act. The Dems own it. But they had a little 'inside help' from the 'opposition'.

The premiums for a decent policy are not affordable, especially if you have a family.

The deductibles are not affordable if you simply go with the bronze plan and you end up needing to use the insurance that you were forced to purchase.

I know families that have went from paying $400 a month to almost $1000 a month in one leap.

Stop calling it Obamacare? Why should we stop calling it Obamacare? Everyone has heard about Obamacare, what with all the news stories about what an incredible disaster the Obamacare rollout was, haven't they? So, why stop calling it Obamacare?

Enroll America Director Conspires to Release Private Data

After meeting with several Obamacare Navigators who openly encouraged our undercover reporters to lie about income status, health history and more, it became clear that personal data was also being “cross-pollinated.”

Enter Enroll America, a Sebelius-linked group dedicated to signing people up for Obamacare and Chris Tarango, Texas Enroll America Communications Director who Project Veritas caught on tape agreeing to help obtain a private list of potential Obamacare enrollee data for election/political purposes. Tarango goes so far to say he’ll “Do whatever it f****** takes.”
