According to a Rasmussen Reports poll conducted June 20 July 1 of 1,000 likely voters, 49 percent of Americans support a religious exemption to the government's contraceptive mandate, which was successfully argued for by Hobby Lobby.

By comparison, 39 percent oppose the decision, while 12 percent are undecided.

The poll also found that almost half of voters, or 47 percent, say companies, regardless of their religious position on contraception, should not be required to meet the contraceptive mandate set out in the new healthcare law, though 43 percent disagree and think businesses without religious objections should be required by law to comply.

I think a lot of the result can be explained by:

a. People don't think the government should be messing with business owners' religion
b. Obamacare just sucks
