Exclusive: Obama – ‘Spread the Wealth Around’ Reveals Socialist Plan for America
Interview with Joe Wurzelbacher

The Editors

At a recent campaign appearance in Ohio, Sen. Obama was approached by plumber Joe Wurzelbacher, who has concerns about Obama’s proposed tax policies. FamilySecurityMatters.org’s Pam Meister had a candid conversation with him about his experience.

PAM MEISTER: You recently met Sen. Obama on the campaign trail in Ohio, and you asked him a question about his tax policies. What exactly was your question for him?

JOE WURZELBACHER: Initially, I started off asking him if he believed in the American Dream and he said yes, he does – and then I proceeded to ask him then why he’s penalizing me for trying to fulfill it. He asked, “what do you mean,” and I explained to him that I’m planning on purchasing this company – it’s not something I’m gonna purchase outright, it’s something I’m going to have to make payments on for years – but essentially I’m going to buy this company, and the profits generated by that could possibly put me in that tax bracket he’s talking about and that bothers me. It’s not like I would be rich; I would still just be a working plumber. I work hard for my money, and the fact that he thinks I make a little too much that he just wants to redistribute it to other people. Some of them might need it, but at the same time, it’s not their discretion to do it – it’s mine.

PM: You’re a plumber, and you’re looking to buy your own plumbing business?

JW: Correct.

PM: Would that plumbing business employ other people or would it just employ you?

JW: Eventually it would employ other people. Right now it’s a two man shop and it’s got a very good footprint and a very good reputation, so eventually I would want to put other people out there. I don’t want to get huge because if you get too big your quality goes, but I definitely wouldn’t mind having two good plumbers out there with me working.

PM: So a potential tax increase – how do you see that affecting your ability to hire more people to work with you at your company?

JW: Obviously these are hypothetical questions to a degree because I don’t know what the economy is going to do…

PM: Of course.

JW: Essentially what that would do is, I’d have to see how much money is available after everything else is paid, to see if I can one, afford a new vehicle, two, outfit it, and then three, pay a good salary. And if I’m being taxed too much, one of those three things is going to get shorted. One, I won’t be able to buy as good a good vehicle or I won’t stock it as well, or the guy I hire – if I’m able to hire somebody – is not going to make as much as he should.

I can not stand the way Obama just says we need to take your money and and give it to others, it is forced charity.

Well darn, "spread the wealth" just reeks of ACORN's bullying tactics against banks to lend to people who were NOT QUALIFIED! I believe Obama was an attorney on one of those cases.

Where's the incentive to work hard ? Work at all?

The Dems attacking Joe the Plumber are attacking the middle class! Of course, they won't tell us what Obie meant by "spread the wealth" ... :D

Poor Joe, they are really going to try and destroy him now

In an interview yesterday Joe the Plumber, who does not like Obama's socialist plans, said that Barack Obama's answer to him about "spreading the wealth" was "right out of Karl Marx's mouth."

After making Joseph Wurzelbacher famous, McCain learned 3 key facts -- Joe owes back taxes, isn't licensed and Obama's plan would cut Joe's taxes.

Which makes him not the Average Joe....how?

Owes back taxes (1200 dollars in property taxes as I understand it), isnt licensed (doesnt need a license as long as he is not self employed as a plumber and as long as he works on residential jobs and not commercial), and Obama has no intention of cutting Joe's taxes. Obama is making that promise just to get elected .If he does get elected, that promised tax cut will be the first thing to go.

1. He owes back taxes. So?
2. He doesnt NEED one as he works for a master plumber. I checked. You didn't.

I have a relative, very bright person, who has been driving me crazy. He supports Obama. I think this redistribute wealth thing has gotten to him. Now I heard he's wavering.

Joe the Plumber ought to have a cabinet post to bring some common sense to their cabinet meetings. Yay Joe!

40% of all Americans filing a tax return pay no taxes. Obama is going for these voters and they don't care about anyone having to pay Clinton era taxes on the profits over $250k. It is a brilliant move.

You got it Logan, right on the money man! It's the classic way to win an election; mobilize the "middle class", promise them everything they want, get elected.

Nevermind that Sotero's tax plan will add another 10% to the list of people who already pay no taxes, guys making 50k a year and up (like me) will pay their share. I'm obviously a "wealthy elitist".

Then quit bashing Bush & Mccain; that might help. If Obama is elected, the shit will hit the fan for the average working Joe and business owner. I will be much better off if Obama's campaign promises take effect; not taxing S.S. or retirement income would provide me with a great windfall.

I don't know how you can say such a foolish thing. What do you think is happening with a lot of home owners right now?? If they aren't able to pay their mortgages, I doubt they are paying their property taxes. On top of that, many have mounting credit card debt and have lost their jobs. The divorce rate is insane and many end up financially devastated...the owe taxes, support, etc.

If Joe the plumber had been an Obama supporter, the media would be embracing him. Nobody would be making fun of him or digging into his past. If the situation were reversed and Republicans did what liberals are doing to this guy, OMG, shit would hit the fan. The Republicans would be smeared for attacking the average guy with average problems. The liberals can't believe that a guy making a modest living feels that nobody (including the wealthy) should be penalized for their success. That this guy wants to work hard and acheive success on his own, not from a handout. Obama and his cult members have gone way too far by attacking an individual voter...you know, the very people he claims to be fighting for.

Obama reminds me of The Manchurian Candidate.

Secretary of Plumbing? We haven't had White House plumbers since the Nixon crew. :D
Actually, he may run for congress, now that he's been vetted by the media and all that they could find was a tax lien.

Logan has it on the money though, he never said it's the right thing to do but politically it is really smart. Think how many people in this country want something for nothing and Obama is playing on that greed.

Also, how has nobody in the media mentioned that Obama's "cut taxes for 95% of families" plan is a bold-faced lie. Currently a little over 37% of American households pay no income tax whatsoever, nothing. Under Obama's plan that number will raise to just over 48% by the end of his 1st term alone. Nearly half the nation will pay nothing in income taxes! Now, who do you think will shoulder the burden that this leaves? You could tax every Billionaire and millionaire in this country 90% of their income, it still wouldn't be enough to pay for everything he's saying he'll do. Government spending is going to INCREASE to cover Barry's tax plan. The "Middle Class" will see a tax increase. So much for caring about the little guy.

Why is Obama's answer any less relevant? He wants to take money from me and lots of other small business people so we can't grow our businesses. I want to know how Obama plans to cut the cost of healthcare when he's talking about increasing taxes on most of the doctors in this country. Most doctors own their own small businesses. If you increase their taxes, they will either lay people off, expect to get paid more or just stop practicing. How will that decrease the cost of health care?

If Joe is the issue, then Obama's answer can be relegated to the back burner until after he's safely elected. If Obama's tax plan is the issue, he might not get there and that $605 million that he's spent on the campaign will be wasted. That's the only economic issue that Obama and the left really care about.
