While NBC Nightly News has failed to mention Jonathan Gruber's scandalous comments about ObamaCare for eleven days, Comedy Central's fake newsman Jon Stewart devoted eight minutes to the controversy on The Daily Show Tuesday night.

After playing various clips of Gruber crediting passage of the health care law on the "stupidity of the American voter," Stewart went a step further by playing a 2006 soundbite of then-Senator Barack Obama hailing Gruber as one of the "brightest minds" at the liberal-leaning Brookings Institution.

Other media clips detailed Gruber's central role as the architect of ObamaCare. Stewart joked: "The White House cafeteria has a sandwich now called the 'Gruberger.' The President of the United States has a necklace, it is a broken medallion. The other half of that medallion resides on the person of one John Gruber." Stewart concluded: "...the Democratic leadership told us that the individual mandate in the Affordable Care Act was not a tax, even though they knew it was a tax. That's pretty slimy. I guess all they can do now is go before the American people and say, 'Alright. We mislead you. It was for the greater good'..."

Stewart Slams Pelosi's Hypocrisy: ‘Just as Politically Craven as Male Counterparts’

Immediately following a segment where John Stewart criticized “Grubergate” as “pretty slimy” the liberal talk show host went on to call out a point of hypocrisy with Dem. House minority leader Nancy Pelosi.

When Pelosi denied pregnant, double amputee Veteran Rep. Tammy Duckworth the right to vote from home this past midterm election, she said allowing that would set “an unwanted precedent.” However, Stewart wasn’t buying it.

“You seemed okay setting a new precedent when you became the first female house speaker or when you filed the Supreme Court amicus brief on behalf of a pregnant woman whose employer refused to modify work conditions so she could continue working. So why not in this case?”

Stewart went on to play news segments which suggested Pelosi’s own political interests would be served by denying Duckworth to vote. Stewart then slams Pelosi, saying:

“And that’s how the precedent was set. That a woman leader, can be every bit as politically craven as her male counterparts. Let me say this: You go girl. Seriously, you should go. ”

He really does hit Pelosi with what she did. I thought it odd that Stewart should trash his own, but he may be a Dem wanting new party leadership.

Jon is a solid liberal, but he's always made fun of democrats, too. Yes, he mocks republicans and conservatives more than he does democrats and liberals, but he's never ignored democratic scandals.

Well, he really brings out her hypocrisy. His "comedy" has a sharp edge. I wish he would go after Democrats more often.
