The U.S. Supreme Court rules with Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, granting her a stay to a temporary restraining order from a federal appeals court that ordered her to provide a system for implementing voter fraud prevention methods.

I really hope I am wrong, but now I fear the system is lost.

This decision does Democracy no good what-so-ever. It's like having an open border. :(

Brunner Pulled Into Another Fight Over Voter Registartion (http://www.nbc4i.com/midwest/cmh/news.apx.-content-articles-CMH-2008-10-17-0033.html)

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A writ of mandamus was filed with the Ohio Supreme Court late Friday afternoon, seeking to compel Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner to match new voter registrations with information from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

The action, filed by David Myhal, is significant following Friday's U.S. Supreme Court opinion. In the opinion, the justices overturned a federal appeals court ruling that ordered Brunner to help counties verify voter eligibility. Their reasoning was that the Ohio GOP was a private entity and could not bring such action. Conversely Myhal, of New Albany, is a registered voter in Franklin County.
