Despite being oppossed to him politically. He really loved what he was doing. One of the few liberal pundits I would actually watch.

Correct me if I'm off the mark here, but isn't the key witness in the Libby trial...now dead?
Advertisements [?]It was Russert's testimony to investigators that was largely responsible for the establishment of a special prosecutor:

"Scooter Libby, chief of staff for Vice President Dick Cheney, told special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald that Russert was the first to tell him of the identity of Central Intelligence Agency officer Valerie Plame (Mrs. Joseph C. Wilson). Russert testified previously and again in United States v. I. Lewis Libby that he did not tell Libby of Mrs. Wilson's CIA identity."

Bold added for emphasis.

Who else might not have wanted Russert ever testifying against them, I wonder?

Shows the value of a clear conscience and how it can extend your life span.

117. I urge all to email NBC & ask that they pick a fair replacement-not a right-winger.

If anyone can suggest some appropriate options, let's hear it.

I imagine Dan Rather or Phil Donahue might be looking for a new gig...

Russert a right-winger?

A deleted sub-thread and some other individual posts deleted as well.

I look forward to more nutty conspiracy threads from the DUmp, as usual.

Most importantly, RIP Mr. Russert. You shall be missed.
