The market went up around 900 points yesterday, and nobody posted? I've gotten use to seeing something here from the left everytime something negative happens in economics, you know, to rub our faces in it. But it goes up over 10 percent and nothing? I only here crickets....

It's been up and down a lot, although this is good news I doubt it'll last.

I hate to agree with LP, but as all over the place as the Dow has been, holding off on the champagne is a good idea. As of this writing, it has shot up to almost 9150 and dropped back down to almost 9000 this morning.

The market needed to test the low of a few weeks ago...it did that...it was followed by a huge rally and now the swings won't be as severe. I think we reached the bottom in the low 8,000. It will start to inch back up...slowly, but surely.
But hey, I'm an optimist...:D

In case the Annointed One wins, I sold one of my few holdings with a capital gain. Luckily I got it at the absolute highest, waited til the last minute yesterday, got it right in aat the end. I don't want to be subject to the detested one's higher capital gain, although I have lots and lots of losses to offset it.
Lager, you made a good point. But it's the difference between conservatives and liberals. We are perhaps too low key in tooting our own horn----where the libs can always be relied on to do a jab whenever something negative occurs.

A little progress is better than none at all. :)
