View Full Version : What's a major mistake?

I heard some pundits talking recently and the general consensus was that Obama will win unless a major mistake is made. What constitutes a major mistake? I would have thought Biden's gaffes could have qualified. The redefinition of middle class and subsequently who will be taxed, a sizable goof. Telling Joe he wants to spread his wealth around and raising capital gains taxes even if it hurts gov revenue seemed to qualify.

But today I hear an audio where Obama lays out a plan the HE says will bankrupt the coal industry and that's perfectly OK with him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hdi4onAQBWQ

I know everyone will have a tough time believing this but this audio was recorded 1/17/08 and the story printed in the San Francisco Chronicle the next day. The printed version somehow omitted the bankrupt the coal industry part. Must have been an oversight.

If Obama gets a single vote in PA or WV or any of the coal producing states, WE deserve for him to win.

A major mistake would be something his MSM buddies can't bury for him...

I don't think it's possible for Obama to commit so severe a mistake that his supporters would bolt. We're sitting on the largest coal supply in the world, 120,000 work in the industry and Obama is perfectly willing to throw it away. I think Obama could be caught with the proverbial live boy or dead girl, have it in 2" headines on the NYT and it wouldn't make any difference.

I agree. I just heard Beckle tell Hannity that this was a mistake because it got McCain off message. CAN YOU FREAKING BELIEVE THIS CRAP?
Nothing matters to these Socialist POC's except power. Screw the USA, DIMS want power at ANY cost.

I was just watching a rerun of H&C. I'm sure it must have run within the last 24 hours. Hannity played the audio clip of Obama saying he'd bankrupt the coal industry and the price of electricity will have to skyrocket. Sitting with H&C was Coulter and Pat Cadell. After the clip Hannity asked Cadell for an opinion. Cadell sat there with his mouth literally hanging open. He then said, "Did I just hear... was that Obama's voice?... did I just hear him say... he was going to bankrupt the coal industry and electricity is going to skyrocket?... what that his voice saying that?...." . Could have knocked him over with a feather.

Cadell is a Democrat but I think the guy has integrity.

Cadell is a Democrat but I think the guy has integrity. He is an OLD SCHOOL democrat. Not too many of those left. :( The socialist progressives don't like 'em. Kinda like how the RINOs don't like "neocons."

I think it would matter. The problem is the NYT, CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN would not run the story until 11/5/08. It's like the Obamabots are in a trance and can't think for themselves. Of course as soon as Dims pass the Fairness Doctrine they won't need to as all they're thinking will be done for them. How nice. Kinda like DU.
