President Obama on Monday addressed the controversy surrounding San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, saying the athlete was “exercising his constitutional right to make a statement” when he refused to stand for the National Anthem.

Kaepernick has said he refused to support a country that he believes oppresses black people and other minorities.

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick said during an interview with NFL Media.

The move led to Donald Trump suggesting Kaepernick should leave America, and caused a police union to threaten to boycott NFL games involving Kaepernick.

Obama, during a speech at the G20 Summit in China, added Monday that had “generated more conversation about some topics that need to be talked about.” And added that Kaerpernick had “a point around certain concerns around justice and equality.”

There's your legacy obama. Almost 8 years and you have nothing to help the plight of "your people".

Does he ever comment about all the murders in his adopted hometown? Nah.

Well, they're not really his people. He's, at most, the son of a wealthy and politically connected Kenyan foreign student. No slavery in his background. No understanding of South Central or North Philly.

He has no "people."

Black, white, brown, or in-between!

He feels above us all and prefers to associate only with the Hollywood Crowd and the elites of the country. His main concern is as he promised, and is succeeding at mightily ...

To "fundamentally change" this country! :livid:

I wouldn't even call it 'addressing'... when you're word-stumbling and searching; hence prolonging sentences. The global-press should feel insulted to be reported that they were 'addressed' on the issue.

In the first 90-seconds of the AP-clip, obama used 'uh' 12 times, 'ya know' 5 times, and 'tuh' (for 'too'', but also a conversational bastardization of 'uh') 3 times.

He was almost saying it's better to protest The Anthem than it is to sing it.

Obama ... added that Kaerpernick had “a point around certain concerns around justice and equality.”

Did BHO go off teleprompter? Or did TOTUS cloud what was said because it's so well known that most of the shootings BLM protests were justified?

The only "point" Kaepernick has is on the top of his head.

I'm thinking TOTUS is too smart to make such a bizarre comment.
