An American tourist was beaten to death on Friday after a fight erupted at a bar on an island in*Greece, and at least eight people have been arrested in connection with his killing, according to local police.

Bakari Henderson, a 22-year-old recent graduate of the University of Arizona, was at a bar on the Greek island of Zakynthos when a fight broke out with another group of people on Friday around 3 a.m. local time, according to police there.

The fight escalated into a brawl and Henderson was battered to death in the street, police said.*

22. And the group was probably in their 20's. 3AM. Not much context beyond that. I'd assume it was about a woman.

Whatever sparked the fight, I'm going to speculate that hatred for Americans generally and racism particularly (the victim was black) had a lot to do with an ordinary bar fight into escalating murder.

I saw the report this morning and what I saw was a bunch of rich liberal kids who believed all that crap it takes a village. Welcome to the real world :blue:

Especially if you don't know the language.

I don't think the Greek people are inhospitable to American tourists in general, though.
