Yep .. San Francisco.

San Francisco held an “Obama-themed” holiday tree-lighting celebration last night at McLaren Lodge in Golden Gate Park. Obama ornaments and the Obama theme replaced the Birth of Christ theme.

I'm telling ya .... all tha religious rhetoric he used during the campaign - self-messianic rhetoric right out of the bible ... and his followers are adoring him LITERALLY. It's very spooky.

We'll see how long the honeymoon lasts. The media loves to build them up and then tear 'em down.

Obama told a magazine that he doesn't give his kids Christmas presents.

Hmmm ... wonder if there will be Christmas decorations in the White House next year.

Edited to add - I do not believe one way or the other that Obama is a closet muslim.
I used this tape because it was the only thing I could find that gave the info.

He doesn't? I'm against children not getting presents. I'd love to see the link to that.

He flipped flopped on that one. People Magazine reported they didn't get presents.

Okay, they don't give their kids Christmas presents because they come from Santa Claus. I seem to recall my parents doing the same thing when I was young, and they were more Methodist than Muslim.

He said they didn't get presents from Mom and Dad. Apparently we're determined to turn this into the latest Obama scandal, though. :p

My parents always made sure that at least some of the presents were from "Mom and Dad" and not from Santa. They thought it wasn't fair for Santa to get all the credit, when they were paying the bills.

Any Christmas gifts are from Santa.
They get no birthday gifts.
Their gift is an expensive sleep over.

(how a sleep over can be expensive ... I dunno')

anyways - there's the info.

NOW - BACK TO THE OBAMAMASTREE! :D

Oy. I agree the Obama tree is a more interesting story. As for the rest, my Mom and Dad gave us some presents (so they could get the credit) but most of them came from Santa. Once we knew Santa wasn't real, Mom and Dad's name went on there. I don't see anything wrong with the Obama's saying they're from Santa. Nor do I see anything wrong with having the party the kids' birthday gift. I have a lot of problems with the Obamas' politics. I have yet to see anything wrong with their parenting. They seem to be good parents, to me.

It can be expensive when it's at a downtown hotel and the kids can order anything they want from the room service menu. I've had friends do that kind of sleepover for their kids.

Sure, but I think my first Obama's is grammatically incorrect. :(

I think you're OK, as you have publicly confessed your sin. ;)

But I know better (most of the time). As annoying as a grammar nazi can be, I must confess that I am personally embarrassed when I see one of my own mistakes. I usually don't catch them until I'm quoted by someone else. And there I am, in all my grammar ignorance, for the whole board to see! :(

My brat gets his clothes from me. Everything else is from Santa. I don't think he has believed in Santa for 6 years now but I don't care. My mom still brings me presents that Santa left at her house.:D

Anyone know about the "El Chope" lettering? Is that really spanish, or a reference to the People's Cube?

CHOPE? Yeah, that was strange.

I think it's even stranger that they made it an Obamass Tree instead of a Christmas tree.

Took out Christ. Put Obama in.

THAT is rather SPOOKY.
