Baby Alfie passed away this morning at 2:30 AM.

Baby Alfie was taken off of life support earlier this week.
The doctors said he would die within minutes.
But he lived.
So they starved him for four days
British doctors would not allow Baby Alfie to leave their hospital to seek help in Italy.
The High Court ruled it was in Baby Alfie’s best interest to be taken off of life support.
The baby died four days later.

Britain don't exactly have a great background, in their beginning they were some of the most brutal barbarians known to mankind. I guess some of it carried over. This morning I watched the Neil show on Fox and he had some nut talking about how great socialism would be for America, I had to pause and let my blood pressure normalize.

Probably water deprivation was what killed him, a horrible way to die.

sounds like being a subject of the crown is not good for your health.

Oh I'm sure if this child had been born to the royal family they would have tried whatever it took to save him. The subjects (citizens my ass) not so much.

It's one thing to pull the plug on a respirator, that is keeping a person breathing when all other signs of life are gone.

Depriving someone of food and water is a different issue. I consider the first example to be letting nature take it's course. The second is actively speeding up that process. In this case, the British could have let the Vatican take the baby into one of it's hospitals, too, and washed their hands of the matter.

Why do you think they did not do this?

Why do you think they did not do this?

Because they think they are right and that they were ending the baby's suffering. But more the first part than the second.

Sort of like the government mousetrap people.

Or the death panels the libs swear don't exist in government run healthcare.

Either way, if noonwitch gets her way, we'll all end up "Baby Alfie" at some point. Unless we're part of the elite, liberal, ruling class that is...
