’Tis the season … to be green. No, not even the traditions of Christmas are immune to the efforts of global warming activism.

No, it’s not Al Gore’s, “How Greenhouse Gases Stole Christmas,” but a children’s story is pushing a similar green agenda. The recently published book by Anne Margaret Lewis called “Santa Goes Green” is about a boy who writes Santa and asks him to help raise awareness about global warming so that his adopted polar bear won’t lose its home.

“You see, it’s like this Santa,” the book reads. “I’ve adopted a polar bear named Leopold. He is in danger of losing his home. I’m sure you being in the North Pole you know about the melting glaciers. All I want this year Santa, is to save Leopold and his home.”

Santa Claus visits the boy, takes him to see the polar bear and then in a moment of eco-awakening, he makes his operations at the North Pole green.

“They arrived back at the North Pole and Santa had a grand idea,” the book reads. “He leaned in toward Swift [the head elf] and told him his new plan. ‘We will collect all of the old toys, Swift, and make them new again. We will reuse last year’s wrapping paper. And we will harness the great North Pole wind to help power up the toy shop.’”

For those tempted to purchase the book, a preview is available on the publisher’s Web site.

Words Fail.

It doesn't get any "Greener" than Reindeer.

Al Gore could learn from this if he would stop travelling the globe in his fleet of aircraft for his self aggrandizing and self promoting FAKE cause. He could also park his SUV's.

Does this stupid story tell the kids about how many MORE polar bears there are when the weather warms and food is abundant?

On the upside, seals won't need as much Ice space due to the decimation of their population.

But... but... Polar bears live on icebergs! Didn't you see that news photo that proved it? I think Algore said so, too.

you know how much greenhouse gas those bears pump out? Santa is going to have to buy a shit ton of carbon offsets. :D

That book sounds so stupid.
"We will collect all of the old toys, Swift, and make them new again. We will reuse last year’s wrapping paper."
Recycling and remaking old toys? So, rather than work hard to make new toys, they'll have Santa take the lazy way out and do a half- assed job. Great message to send to impressionable children.
Oh, and reusing last year's wrapping paper, like so many liberal ideas, is well- meaning but ultimately wouldn't work, for a few reasons:
1. It would be in such poor condition and small quantities from being torn off last year's gifts that they would be unable to reassemble enough of it to wrap another gift, and even if they could, it would look like crap.
2. It would be too weak to hold together a year later without coming apart.
I think I have an idea for another liberal propaganda book they can use next Christmas. It'll be called "Barack Claus,' and here's what it will be about:
Barack Obama is unhappy with the "Unfair" and "Discriminatory" practice of Santa Claus giving presents to nice kids and coal to naughty kids. Obama thinks Santa should "Spread the toys around," and sends him a lengthy letter ordering him to do so. When jolly old St. Nick refuses to do so, stating that it's wrong to reward kids who are bad, Obama has him kicked out of the North Pole and imprisoned for comitting a hate crime, appoints himself as the new Santa, and sets out a new Christmas strategy in which, in the name of "Social justice," presents meant for the good kids will instead be 'Redistributed' to the bad kids.

We need to set Al Gore in a nice room and tell him to solve the run away greenhouse effect on Venus. Tell him it's so we can move all the endangered species there. That should keep him tied up for awhile.

MUCH more entertaining. . . .
