Rome, 12/31/08) After repeated calls among his supporters, including benevolent dictators worldwide who sense a true ally in the White House, for the Vatican to immediately canonize Barack Obama in the name of humanity and the hard left, before he’s had a chance to do anything worthwhile other than make promises, the Vatican today rejected any and all requests to do so based on lack of evidence.
In a carefully crafted, planned and well thought out statement from Rome, the Pontiff, through a spokesperson, said the following, “No”.
The NY Times, along with other U.S. networks, is shocked at this obvious slight to the man who is, “The one we’ve been waiting for.”
Said an ardent supporter: "We've already built altars and pray to his image daily for world peace*. I'm in tears that this deserving black man, the first black President, is being slighted in this way."
Reactions from the U.S. media:
NY Times: “The world is for him, and we demand a worldwide vote on this issue. A democratically elected Saint, whether or not they’ve ever done anything worthwhile, is the only solution.”
Unidentified U.S. CBS anchorwoman: “And I got all excited and stuff”
Unidentified potential U.S. Senatorial Appointee: “You know, this kind of insult, you know, is an insult, you know, and I’m sure that, you know, it will be taken care of, you know, in time.”
