I thought the comment about Clarence Thomas was interesting-he's not my favorite justice, but when I was watching the President enter the Capitol for his speech Tuesday night, I thought Thomas looked happy when he shook Obama's hand.
Thomas is a conservative, and he probably didn't vote for Obama. He's still a black man, and on that level, he may be happy that the barrier has finally been broken. After all, he's only the 2nd black justice on the court, so although he's not the actual first, he's the second and the only black justice currently on the court. He knows about those barriers himself.
