Paul cancels Victoria trip to stay with wife, Carol

Congressman Ron Paul canceled his Monday trip to Victoria to stay with his wife, who was in a Houston hospital intensive care unit after being hospitalized Thursday, a Paul spokesperson reported.

Spokeswoman Rachel Mills would not provide further information on Carol Paul’s condition, saying the family wished to keep it a private affair.

Carol Paul, known for her support and interest in Paul’s campaigns, was hospitalized for a pre-existing heart condition on Aug. 11, 2007. Doctors implanted a pacemaker, and she recovered without complications.

Carol is a nice lady. Hope she gets better.

While I feel sympathy for any person undergoing a serious health problem, I particularly feel sorry for their spouse. It must be a horrible feeling to worry about such a close loved one. Glad to hear that apparently she is doing well.

So, by divvying up the warchest, setting up a PAC for like minded local politicians, laying a rich foundation for future libertarian conservatives, he's all but gone from the political landscape. Politics in this country will never hear the name again. Yeah, right. It's not like the donations that were going to him have been diverted to some PAC that is funneled to people who think like him or something. It's not like 'Ron Paul Republicans' have won congressional primaries or anything. That's just crazy talk.

This is in sharp contrast to what John Edwards does to his dying wife.
