Chicago to replace police dogs.
The city of Chicago, in an unprecedented move, has announced a decision to retire all of their German Shephard police dogs. It will be a gradual retirement of these long serving canines, as new dogs must be trained and prepared to replace the retiring officers. The German Shephard dogs will be replaced with Black and Tan Coonhounds, a breed similar to the Bloodhound.
When asked an anonymous source said it had nothing to do with the performance of the German Shephards as they had been very productive and will be greatly missed. "Times have changed. The Black and Tan Coonhounds are the best fit for our needs in Chicago today.", said the source. "We haven't had any problems from Germans in years.":D
