No, we don't. We had that option, and George Washington refused to take us up on it. OTOH, Rome took that option at the end of the Republic, and spent the next several decades fighting civil wars. We don't need emperors, kings, czars or fuhrers, we just need to govern ourselves, and if we can't do that, then no tyrant will make it any better.
