I'll give you an example of alternative history. The KKK. The left loves to point them out as a right wing organization when we all know better. They also like to try to say that slavery was a right wing Republican institution. Again, we all know better.
Terminology is being used incorrectly, history is what actually happened and cannot be changed, you can have an accurate and inaccurate accounting but you cannot change fact or history, only your awareness of them.
The term alternate history is inaccurate and sounds like something you would get from a generation of children raised on scifi and video games.
Another form of alternative history is material that Harry Turtledove writes about in his books....

Looks to me like Alternative History is nothing but fiction. Sort of like the movie Inglorious Basterds.
If so, it's not really worth considering on a History Forum, except just for fun.
