I have been out of town, without a pc. Sadly, the update is not positive. His condition has been downgraded to "grave". He has been moved to a new hospital, and they keep removing the bad parts. He is missing a pancreas, and quite a bit of intestine. His wife is hoping for a sufficient period of lucidity that she may find out if he wishes to continue treatment.
Please keep the Ape in your thoughts.

Thanks so much for the update, Creeping Death, but not the one that we wanted to hear. If you can get a message to the family, please tell them how concerned that we are. SR and I talked to him many times on Skype and considered him a good friend. He was very kind and supportive through SR's medical problems last year (mine, too). We're in a state of shock as he had said that he wasn't feeling well once in a while, but never indicated that it was anything serious. It's tough to think that two relatively young men, both in their early 50's (SR and Ape are about the same age) had come up with such medical problems.
He used to kid me all the time about banning him. That's one of my biggest regrets, a stupid mistake. He's a good man and hope that he beats this thing. Maybe it's a good thing that they're moving him to another hospital, hopefully one with more expertise. But you'd think in the NY/NJ area they'd have excellent hospitals. I know he's a fighter and will beat this thing.
