You can see this in the communist literature of the 1930s, when the Nazis and Italian fascists were the enemy in Spain, but then became socialists again after the Molotov/Von Ribbentrop pact, and then became fascists again after the invasion of Russia. The conceptual alignment of fascism with the right was pure propaganda, and it was extremely effective.
