I would say legally and constitutionally people have a right to be offensive... even really, really offensive. Even mind-blowingly full-retard offensive. What's sad is the individual in the picture didn't even really understand how offensive she was being.

BUT, just as people have a right to engage in offensive speech, everyone else has a right to call them out on it... boycott and write nasty letters to their employer, and so forth.

Why? Because I'm not jumping on the bandwagon to condemn this woman for joking around on a field trip? I doubt that she is the first to do so. So we should ask, "What has changed?"
