Possibly, but if that was their plan they could probably come up with something that wouldn't concentrate large, unfriendly naval forces in the same seas...something like helping Iran a bit more than they have already.
[ U.S. to Deploy Thaad Anti-Missile System to Guam, Pentagon Says ]
Apparently the United States will deploy a missile- defense system to Guam in coming weeks as a “precautionary move” against North Korea’s ballistic missile threat.
The Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense program (THAAD) is a Lockheed Martin program (started in 1987) and in 2005 they launched a missile in its first Flight EMD Test, known as FLT-01. The test was deemed a success by Lockheed and the Pentagon.
THAAD missiles have an estimated range of 125 miles (200 km), and can reach an altitude of 93 miles (150 km).
This should protect our folks pretty good.
The only way the Norks are going to deliver a nuke anywhere overseas for the foreseeable future is in a 40-foot steel shipping container.
