Rapper's Childhood Home in Detroit Up for Sale
OPENING BID $1
The small brick home where Eminem spent many of his teenage years, and that is on the cover of 2000's The Marshall Mathers LP, is now for sale.
The house used to be owned by Eminem's mother, Debbie Mathers, now known as Debbie Nelson. Now, however, The Michigan Land Bank has put the property up for auction. They have owned it since Oct. 5, 2012, according to MLive. Buyers can own the Detroit home on 19946 Dresden St. for a $35 processing fee and the right bid. Currently, there is no minimum bid on the home. Taxes on the house are posted as between $7,000 and $8,000 a year.
$7000 for property taxes? Less then 800 square feet. The back yard looks like a jungle and the neighborhood like a landfill.
