Republicans livid after Schiff cites supposed threat to GOP senators

    Source: Politico

Rep. Adam Schiff read aloud an anonymous quote about what would happen to Republican senators if they voted against President Donald Trump in his impeachment trial. It did not land well.

The California Congressman, in ending the Democrats' three-day opening salvo, was discussing the internal politics each senator must face as they consider their votes. Then he read the quote from a CBS story: That a Trump ally said "GOP senators were warned ... 'vote against the president and your head will be on a pike.'"

Several Republican senator murmured "not true" as soon as Schiff said it. Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) shook her head and said "not true" several times. Schiff quickly tried to recover.

"I don't know if that's true. But when I read that, I was struck by the irony," Schiff said. "I hope it's not true. I hope it's not true."

    2. They should vent their collective hissy-fit

to Dear Leader and his hench-buffoons, who are the ones attributed with this great phrase.
It's a lie........so this idiot thinks the person who should be criticized is not the person repeating the lie...........but PRESIDENT TRUMP.

    3. You know DAMNED WELL, he has threatened them into submission.

    \

We'll see if anyone of them still have a backbone/integrity/conscience/balls when the time comes for a vote.
You see, Jack*sses are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo smart that they know EVERYTHING about President Trump, his thoughts, his actions -even when they do not see them, his intentions and motivations. Their arrogance is beyond belief. And it's why they are so dumb.

    6. Schiff knowing that will deny . .

    He did well . .

He knew they'd deny it because it isn't true.

At this point of time. Both sides know the outcome. So it's all political theater for their respective base. Both sides are flooding their supporters with "Donate $5 so we can ....." emails. That is all this is now.

So Collins shouted, "That's not true" when House Managers

said tRump threatened the GOP senators telling them that their heads would be on pikes if they didn't vote the way he wanted. I think that's what Chris Hayes just said to Rachel.

Right. Jack*ss claims she "shouted", other reporting said that she SAID, 'that's not true".

    5. CNN panel suggested

This will be reason Collins and the others vote no on witness's
Democrat House managers went out of their way to demean and criticize Republicans. Either that was the plan or they're dumber than a box of rocks. Oh yes, their base loved it but there are more people who are not part of their base.

    14. Not the reason, the excuse

It's long been a game republicans play, feigning outrage and using the fake outage as an excuse to act without integrity.

If Collins has an issue with the pike comment, she should take it up with CBS.
Really? CBS published it, but Schitt Azz is the one who used it in his closing. He's culpable.

    13. Collins was the one who slipped the little secret note to Roberts....

...a about civility and decorum. Then she yells out to the House Managers during their presentation ?

    Hypocrisy much there Susan ?
Schitt Azz was the one who was uncivil and lacked decorum with his claim, with no evidence, that tRump threatened the GOP senators telling them that their heads would be on pikes if they didn't vote the way he wanted.

    18. Doesn't the sergeant-at-arms start each day with a warning of imprisonment for those who shout out?

Silly me, itís on the books as law (or rule) and youíve got Republicans in there, who just see laws as something to completely ignore, since no law or procedure applies to them. Membership has its privileges.

Anonymous threat, unnamed sources... isn't that the whole foundation of the impeachment?

I am sure that Schiff is his own anonymous source. He repeats lots of things he tells himself anonymously.
Cast your burden on the Lord,
    and he will sustain you;
    he will never permit
    the righteous to be moved.
