Its over for another year. Sure wish the doc would let me eat some but it would do me in interfering with my meds. They are the sweetest grapefruit I ever tasted. Looking at the wheelbarrow and wagons Id guess we got about 350-375 this year but the tree is not looking good and a goodly number of the fruit are small. Well see how the spring leafing out goes and then watch the bloom. I really wish my pecan tree would get up into the production age.

    Wow! That's a good haul! I'm afraid we'd
be in the same boat as to the effects on meds.

May the FORCE be with you!

We had a valencia orange tree when we lived in Sarasota. The production was fantastic. I had to buy a new juicer to keep up with the crop. Then the "greening" disease hit it and we had to take it down. They were the best tasting oranges I ever tasted.

Still on the Sarasota NextDoor ap. Apparently the fruit robbers have been hitting, stripping all the fruit off the trees in the yards.

We had a few go missing but it would take some concentrated effort to get more than a couple of dozen. But even if they did, unless they damaged the tree, it wouldnt bother me greatly.

Fruit of the Gods, I never buy any because this little mafia store near me would make me go get a bank loan to buy a bag of fruit of any kind. I had a friend from Vietnam who worked for Lear and did all the airframe and skin work on the helicopters, he lives in Florida and he stopped posting 3 years ago on facebook so I saw later his health had gone down. Never heard from him again and there was a time he worked part time for a fruit stand and he would send me these large boxes of fruit every year. I fear the guy probably died and I'll never hear from him again. I cherish the little time all of us had once again. This is what the grapefruit reminded me of.

    I always loved grapefruit.

Like some others here I can't eat them anymore.
