Political Islam Making Inroads in the Netherlands
It seems it doesn’t take a windmill to fall on them to know that something stinks in Holland.
The Dutch security service the AIVD, has reported that Salafism is gaining ground in Holland. Salafism - aka Wahabbism or radical Dawa - is a ‘purist’ version of Islam, that believes that life was most perfect in the time of Mohammed, and every society should reject modernity and strive to be like 7th century Arabia.
Despite its non-violent character, the radical dawa is an extremely intolerant and anti-democratic movement. Followers of the radical dawa strive for a large degree of isolation, combined with intolerance towards dissenters. The AIVD emphasizes that the group of individuals which is sensitive and open to the radical Islamic message is growing.
The latest report puts that number at between 20,000 and 30,000 Dutch Muslims. Or, rather, 20,000-30,000 Muslims resident in the Netherlands. Put another way, the population density of radical Muslims is 2 per square mile. A virtual Mongolia of hate.
The Dutch security services monitor the rise of radicalism in the mosques, but when confronted with actual Jihadis, their primary response appears to be to offer employment assistance . Because of course as every right thinking person knows, poverty causes radicalism. Deportation is not considered practical and sterner measures are likely not to be considered as the whole debate is already too rough for the government to take.
The Islamists are changing tactics from preaching violence to preaching politics.
Infiltration: How Muslim Spies and Subversives have Penetrated Washington
Sperry portrays his work as "an indictment of subversive Muslim leaders representing Saudi Wahhabi interests … who are planting the seeds of insurrection"; its subtitle could be The Concerned Citizens Guide to Radical Islam in America. He explores how a network of Muslim groups and individuals are exploiting America's religious freedom and ethnic sensitivity in order to undermine America from within. According to the author, "The Muslim establishment plays an elaborate word game ... it is easy to be fooled by such duplicity, so I have provided readers with the intellectual tools to easily identify it." He argues that religiously sanctioned dissimulation (taqiya) enables Muslims to penetrate the U.S. political establishment to further an Islamist agenda. Anticipating accusations of anti-Muslim bias, he hastens to add that he "respects all Muslims as individuals."
Infiltration breaks down the threat to American security into seven broad categories: how Muslims conceal their Islamist agendas to gain acceptance in Washington; the hegemony of politically correct myths about radical Islam; the "silent" terror network that operates as Muslim social and religious organizations; the use of Islamic centers, charities, and mosques for terrorism; penetration of law enforcement by Muslim fifth-columnists; subversion in the military and nuclear research facilities; and corporate infiltration under the guise of religious accommodation in the work place.
Of particular note, in the chapter "The Dark Lair of CAIR," Sperry shows how groups such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations exploit catch phrases such as civil rights to push for the implementation of Shari‘a (Islamic law) in American public life and thwart law enforcement efforts to prosecute the war on terror.
Infiltration offers readers a glimpse of the "Wahhabi corridor," along Leesburg Pike that contains the "fastest growing population of Middle Eastern immigrants" in the United States and, according to Sperry, a sleeper cell community. He traced four of the hijackers to the Skyline Towers in northern Virginia (which also houses the offices funding terror) and interviewed a tenant of Pentagon area apartments popular with Saudi diplomats and Muslim immigrants who told him that, "residents ... cheered ... that very day as the Trade Center fell … The people in these buildings are animals."
As Americans continue to worship at the altar of cultural diversity and endorse religious tolerance for tolerance sake, Muslims masquerading as "moderates" have insinuated themselves into the very fabric of American society, taking advantage of our blind trust and gaining footholds in our education system, government, workplace, law enforcement, and military. In this startling book, investigative journalist Paul Sperry uses revealing new interviews and classified documents to courageously explain how, for the past thirty years, these Islamist extremists have been covertly working to destroy our constitutional government and the Judeo-Christian ethics on which our nation was built. Their goal, according to Sperry, is to replace the U.S. Constitution with the Quran and turn America into an Islamic state. And, as Sperry details point-by-point, they have been unwittingly aided in their sinister aims by the politically correct media, government, and citizens, who don't fully understand the dangers of the Muslim faith.
Infiltration explodes the facade of moderation and patriotism that Muslim scholars, imams, clerics, businessmen, and other leaders in the burgeoning Muslim community in America have conveyed in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. In reality, the Muslim establishment that publicly decries the radical fringe-represented by al-Qaida's brand of Islam known as Wahhabism, the official religion of Saudi Arabia-is actually a part of it. The only difference is that they use words and money instead of bombs to accomplish their goals.
Now, thanks to Sperry's peerless research, piquant prose, and forthright presentation, their cover is blown. He will not only make readers forget nearly everything they've been told about these "moderate" and "mainstream" leaders, he will expose the true agenda of these "moderate" and "mainstream" leaders, and he will explain the full scope of the dangerous threat of Islam in America.
With everyone still on edge after 9/11, this book will garner wide interest, appealing specifically to people interested in current events and/or religion. Additionally, the book will appeal strongly to women whose roles, values, and rights are greatly threatened by fundamentalist Islam.

lots of new revelations, info for Islamist-watchers, March 23, 2005
By S. Johnson (Florida) - See all my reviews
As someone who has closely monitored the machinations of militant Muslim activists as chronicled by Pipes and Emerson and other Islamist hawks, there is a helluva lot of new disturbing stuff in this book, which forgiving the pun, looks to be the new bible on Islamism and the Islamic threat inside America. And much of it is supported by fairly sensitive-looking internal Homeland Security documents and real estate/tax/lobbying and other records posted on a companion website -- sperryfiles.com. most alarming is how the FBI is bending over for Muslim muscle groups and is blindly letting its Arabic translation desk in DC become a Muslim "mole house" generating some dozen espionage cases, per CI vets at FBI. And Sperry found that one of the groups the FBI is genuflecting before -- Council on AMerican-Islamic Relations -- is bankrolled by an Arab government, UAE, which was the transit point for 9/11 cash and a formal backer of the Taliban. Dubai holds the deed to CAIR's headquarters, even as CAIR claims it gets no foreign support! And there are classified docs that are sure to embarrass DC bigshots. Remember the hardline cleric who counseled the 9/11 hijackers behind closed doors? the guy the FBI is now looking for after the 9/11 commission concluded was "suspicious" and should be brought in for questioning? well he was released from U.S. custody a year after 9/11 and allowed to leave the country on a Saudi airplane. DC pulled back a warrant for him even though he was on the terror watchlist and subject of terror finance probes by treasury/customs.There's even word in book of a Pakistani cleric who privately counseled the Pakistani terrorist who mowed down CIA employees at Langley, who according to records sperry uncovered is starting a large Wahhabi mosque just down the way from Langley where he can no doubt inspire other jihadists. he also reveals new details about Norman "No Profiling" Mineta and his diversity happy aides that i haven't read anywhere else. at bottom this is the tale of PC gone wild in DC, which is lulling Americans into a false sense of security about the Islamic threat inside the country. With bin Laden still at large and his sleeper cells no doubt still in place here, it's a pretty frightening wake-up call. their agents and sympathizers have done an alarmingly good job of penetrating U.S. institutions and culture, but DC hasn't penetrated theirs. the fbi says it can't find evidence of sleeper cells? yeah, that's reassuring. Isn't that what they said before 9/11?
major cities continue to break bread with those who openly declare their desire to destroy us for Allah.
