To be honest, I find days like this deeply depressing...

...and, by "this," I mean the Biden "town hall," or his acceptance speech at the DNC.

I don't find them depressing because our nominee did poorly; on the contrary, he pretty much knocked it out of the park. What I find depressing is that, by rights, an appearance like this -- as is also true of Trump fiascos like "suckers and losers" or his downplaying COVID revelations -- make such a stark contrast that, in a more rational and ethical nation, they should have been enough to incite a veritable stampede toward our ticket; should have left the incumbent high and dry with absolutely no chance of prevailing.

And yet, I know that the polls over the next few days, and thereafter, will show no movement in our direction whatsoever; that nothing will convince the 40%-plus that currently stand by Trump to desert him.

And that's what I find so depressing. I weep for the fact that our country is so intellectually and morally blind that almost half the people will persist in preferring willful ignorance to reasoned thought ("reasoned thought" - high taxes, socialism, marxism, hate, unfettered illegal immigration, riots, vandalism and the arrogance of believing that if you're not a leftist you are undeserving of having freedom of speech and exercising your political beliefs), selfishness to ethical behavior, cruelty to compassion...and that that "almost-half" may be enough to cement their whims into law (yet we're supposed to accept their 'whims') for the rest of my lifetime. And, even if we do prevail this time, that "almost-half" will still be out there, unrepentant, convinced of their own righteousness and our utter villainy, and ready to pledge themselves to the next Trump to come along -- and, make no mistake, many will.

Awww, don't you feel sorry for him/her? How TERRIBLE they have to put up with people who don't have the same beliefs as they do. How TERRIBLE they don't get everything they want, when they want it.

It reminds me of a spoiled, petulant child who throws temper tantrums if people don't treat him like he's the center of the universe and entitled to whatever he wants.

    1. +1. I've heard many people say this.

Someone as awful as Trump should be 20 points down, should've been impeached, etc, etc.

We have to thank Trump for one thing: he revealed the truth about our country (that many of us long suspected) and the nature of many of its citizens (many have no problem with a fascist as long as he's 'their facist') and institutions (police are a RW militia).

The good news is Biden does have solid and durable lead and nobody on our side is taking anything for granted like maybe some did last time. Biden's message is sharpening - he's hitting Trump hard where it hurts and I doubt there's anything Trump can do as the bodybags pile up and the October surprises rain down on him.

As Biden said in his acceptance speech - "I will be an ally of the light" - we just have to hope the light prevails.
Right. He's "hitting Trump hard". Meaning he's either hiding out in his basement or in very small scripted gatherings (where he only gets pre written easy questions from friendly, colluding reporters), flapping his mouth, LYING about President Trump, all the while saying HE IS GOING TO DO THE SAME THINGS PRESIDENT TRUMP has been doing all along.

The jack*ss wants to be the President but he hides in his basement like a scared little kid.

The only "fascists" are the Democrat governors who are acting like dictators, shutting down the economy; refusing to allow businesses to open or people to attend church but allow violent riots, vandalism and arson.
OBAMA'S H1N1 VIRUS: From April 12, 2009 to April 10, 2010, CDC estimated there were 60.8 million cases (range: 43.3-89.3 million), 274,304 hospitalizations (range: 195,086-402,719), and 12,469 deaths (range: 8868-18,306) in the United States due to the (H1N1)pdm09 virus.

Joe couldn't hit the MSM's campaign-fed softballs placed on Tees out of the infield, and he hits pop-flies more than half the time.

'Chicken-farms pollute Chesapeake Bay' in his 'great home-State of Delaware', when he was asked a question about Iowa corn-farmers.

Plus at one point, CNN tried to go to a commercial but accidentally switched-back to the live feed... He and Hans were inches apart without masks, looking at a notebook.

DUers and other Leftist sure love to embrace their delusions.

They're been having fantasy after fantasy after fantasy since November 2016.

And when fantasy meets reality, guess which one always wins. I'll give you a hint, it ain't fantasy.

To be honest, liberals find everything deeply depressing and thus want everyone else to be equally depressed.
Cast your burden on the Lord,
    and he will sustain you;
    he will never permit
    the righteous to be moved.

A big part of that is because moonbats want to be depressed. They run their engines on anger so much, that happiness and contentment are foreign concepts. When they aren't angry, the inability to feel positive emotions steers them towards depression. Top that off with a toxic community that pushes the need to acknowledge and express negative emotions like depression into dangerous territory (encouraging, excusing and taking pride in dangerous and/or unhealthy behaviors, lifestyles and ideologies, for example) and you get people who are sad for illogical reasons being encouraged to continue being sad, each feeding the other in a vicious circle.
