Now that's a dilemma I would not want. The Gov. of NY has already pissed off the Kennedy Patriarch (Swimmer), and now O is faced with the choice of really pissing off (swimmer) or the moon bat base of the socialist democrat party. But there is a bright light here, (swimmer) is on the way out and with him will go the Kennedy power in CONgress. I say the hell with Kennedy bring on the windmills.:D

    read it here

O is an opportunist. Kennedy already helped him get the nomination. He doesn't need him anymore. I suspect he'll back the wind farm.

I will actually be surprised if Obama backs the wind farm.

If he picks the wind farm, he appeases a good number of greenie-weenies. But 2-4 years down the road, his political capital is going to run out. If he goes against the wind farm, he can do something later to make up for it (approve other wind farms most likely).

His political capital with the Masschusettes elite, however, will be instantly depleated, and with it goes their capital. In 2-4 years, those same east coast liberal bluebloods are going to look out over the bay and see the wind farm. It will discourage them from giving money to the left, and seriously hinder Obama's shifty fundraising that he did so well last year. On the other hand, if he opposes the wind farm, he can proudly say that he spared their pristine view by finding other places to locate the wind farm.

I fully expect him to cave to the people with money. After all, they're the ones that put him into office.

I don't think O gives a crap about the NE states bolting to vote conservative in 2010 or 2012. Those people have returned people like Kennedy, Kerry, Schumer, Clinton, Frank, et al every election and something this minor would not faze them one bit. No I see (swimmer) losing this battle!

Your probably right. Besides, most of Obama's money comes from regular people giving $50 at a time through the web.

This does show, however, the hypocrisy of Ted Kennedy. He is all for alternative energy, as long as it doesn't ruin his precious views.

I expected nothing less from swimmer than hypocrisy, just as I expect nothing less than hypocrisy from Gore jetting around the world bitching about global warming, or the Bollywood 'idols' doing the same thing. Frugality and sacrifice are for the common folk not the elites that 'think' they run this country like their personal fiefdom.
