His older stuff is more benign. HBO is running several of his specials this evening, beginning at 8 pm.

Carlin's stuff up to 1988 was good stuff that didnt rely on hate and if without the curse words the subject matter was stuff most family member would laugh at because it is true.

The album "messin with your head" was in my opinion the best one he ever did.

yes, george was funny. like twenty years ago. maybe thirty years ago. i am old enough to remember the early days, the funny days.

i have hbo and i have seen all of his comedy specials. you can watch them too over the next few nights. toward the end i would just switch them off after a few minutes. watching them with no smiles, no laughs, just sadness.

in his old age he became an awful hack. just a rambling, unfunny, bitter shadow of his former self. not funny. not cool. it was so sad to watch his decline.

a man caught up in his own ego. once relevant. long past. someone that just couldn't keep up.

just a comedian. i've seen so many. he made me laugh once. others have too.

a comedy god? hardly...
