As a student of SMC I would have the most knowledge on the subject matter on that night. If you want this to be a fair conversation we must know that communism is a utopic economic style with a shared equal distrabution of wealth. That sadly is an impossible scenerio though because fascist leaders take advantage of it. Also a majority of the students just wanted to hear him out on educational reform and we physically and verbally assaulted by the protestors. This event was for us at our home.

CalifSunshine2008 (11 hours ago) I can't believe a Catholic college that is supposed to represent God would invite this trash to speak. I hope the alumni refuses to donate. I think Catholics everywhere should write to the Pope on this horrible act. This man wanted to destroy America. Does the Catholic college that has paid Ayers for his lecture promote the destruction of America?

mayerwilliam (10 hours ago) This is a reflection of what is going on in the society in general, the lefties have marched through the institutions and have taken them over. They are now consolidating their power, operating in a "community organizer" mode, under people such as Obama.
The core of American traditionalism still exists, it's out there. The equation we have to solve is how to stir it to action.

4EyedLabGeek1 (9 hours ago) What are "Lefties," in your opinion, and why are you attributing anything to "under people such as Obama?" Any performer or presentor there ever has been has had handlers and security and people who control the volume of antagonists at any event, good or bad. Or, for all you know, they did run out of time. Why do you react to it in conspiracy terms, and why would President Obama be involved? Was this speech about Obama? Are you not aware the presidency has more important matters on its plate?

mayerwilliam (6 hours ago) Lefties = proponents of socialism, as you might be aware, Ayers is a communist revolutionary.

Since we were involved with negotiating with the college our information is probably better than yours.
The tie in with Obama, try to wrap your mind around this. Obama is out of the Saul Alinsky mold, Alinsky was a communist organizer in Chicago.
Now that he's old and can't get women to kill people for him Ayers has retreated to academia, where he now too acts in the Alinsky tradition.

You have a point, but then again many Christian platforms have invited "guest" speakers such as Sarah Palin to come and hold war rallies and promote killing, and many have pastors like Reverend Wright, who promoted the murder of women on the grounds of "witchcraft" (if that isn't a massive FAIL...). It is twisted, but this isn't out of character for Xtians at all. Xtians have spearheaded a huge number of religious wars. What's one little bomb, and one shrapnel death? Isn't that the point?

mayerwilliam (6 hours ago) You have no idea what you are talking about, Sarah Palin was never invited to St. Mary's college.

People like Ann Coulter who never hurt anything but some silly lefties' feelings isn't allowed on most American campuses. Same with Chistians, they don't get invited.

I suggest that you visit your closest university and check out who is teaching, ask students how many of their liberal arts profs are Marxists.
    You might be surprised.
