Not this gal. I was very happy to learn that Mr. Snaps wanted to exchange cards and then go out to dinner on some day other than Valentine's Day this year. No candy, no stuffed animals, no crowds, nothing cupid-related. Yay!GALS PINE FOR HAPPY VALENTINE

Nearly half of American women take Valentine's Day so to heart they would give up something special - like sex or chocolate - for a month in order to have an "awesome" holiday, a new poll has found.
The online joint survey by BlogHer and iVillage, "Valentine's Day: Heaven or Hell?" sought to determine if women loved or loathed it.
"We wanted to know: Does this holiday actually pluck at the heartstrings of women, or is this commercial pressure?" said Lisa Stone, co-founder and CEO of BlogHer. "The answer was . . . they really care."
About 44 percent of 13,192 surveyed said they'd sacrifice something for a month to have an "awesome" V-Day: 4 percent would do without sex; and 8 percent said they'd give up "anything!"
"There is so much pressure on Valentine's Day," Stone said. "Do you have a significant other or not? Do you care? . . . It turns out that women enjoy celebrating the romance."
