We have a deal. Let's see where this takes us. (Who brought that handbasket in here?)

House and Senate negotiators reached agreement today on a stimulus plan with a cost of about $789 billion after scaling down the versions passed by both houses, congressional leaders announced.

The 3 Repubs that voted for this abortion are dumb as a rock cause the $100 billion in concessions eliminated in the House bill will be brought up in another bill. How stupid can you be.

If their goal was to govern the country, then they're idiots. If their goal was to get reelected from their blue states, then they're cynical, but clever in the short term. Of course, when the stimulus bill hits the economy, and we have to issue bonds to cover it, the massive increase in spending and the credit crunch that will accompany it (remember, the money supply is diminished by federal borrowing) will make things worse, not better, and even blue state liberals might remember who made this possible. Of course, the good news is that if you manage to keep your job, the resulting inflation will make paying your house off a lot less painful, but the economic ruin around you may make life otherwise quite unpleasant. I'm not looking forward to having to put down next year's food riots.

Democraps as usual, living in fear and believing that the federal government is the solution to every single problem.

Don't you just love how this administration is sooo bipartisan? I mean Obama, Pelosi and Reid worked hand in hand with the republicans, NOT. Remember Obama said HE WILL have a very transparent administration and ya know the leftest wouldn't lie to us ...would they. It has been said that Bush was a fear monger (of which I do not believe) yet all Obama has done is try to scare the crap out of everyone with the world will end without the stimulus deal line. Unemployment will go to record highs (of 10%). Well that is only 2.5% more then now. And to stop that we now will be weight down with this debt that our generation will not be able to pay off.
Well now that I have said my peace, I will go start my day with a cup of coffee. Hope it is a happy one.;)

They didn't have to, because of the lopsided numbers. That's why some of us like opposite parties holding Congress and the White House.

Except that when it was the other way around, the Democrats used every tool that they could think of to obstruct almost everything that the administration tried to do, including illegal leaks of classified information. The problem isn't that the two parties aren't balanced, it's that the Democrats are so monumentally corrupt and irresponsible that they cannot be trusted to govern.
