Ah, I love it when DUers see racism because of ignorance. Some political cartoon makes light of the chimp attack in Conn. and somehow it means that it's about Obama. Folks, I give you... CHIMPGATE!!

I'd definitely say that the artist went a little to far with it. Yeah, you could associate it with the Chimp attack in New England, but what did that chimp have to do with the Stimulus Bill? It isn't to hard to add 1+1 together here. Whether or not they actually MEANT it, they certainly left it open to be interpreted as such. Which strikes me as kinda stupid.

The cartoon is insinuating that monkeys wrote the stimulus bill. The writers of the stimulus bill was congress (Pelosi) not obama.

It could also mean that the chimpanzee went out of control, much like the spending and pork that was added to the stimulus bill.

It's not racist, and it's not directed at Obama. If it was directed at Obama, the cartoonist would have given the monkey facial features like his, like they did with the Bush/monkey cartoons.

Someone makes a joke equating our Congress-people with a rampaging chimp, and therefore we may assume it's a racist swipe against Obama? Huh? Because the association is "obvious"? Double huh? Obvious to whom?

Obvious to those who see racism around every corner...even if they they can't see around the corner. Because saying that congress wrote a "stimulus bill" that even a chimp could write (and which is just as dead as the chimp in current events) is the same as calling Obama a chimp. racist, racist, racist. They're not big on logical thinking only using the facts, not assumptions, are they?

toon if they thought it was racist... that would be a zero sum gain for them. They saw this the same why I see it, a current event. Again, as I said, this is not 1957, if they thought it was racist they would not have posted it because they would know the backlash and it is just not cool.

I am telling you, you look like a dumbass pushing this as hard as you are... Freeps are giggling there taints off because of this NON ISSUE.

Hmm.....a little sensitive are you? You didn't have a problem using similar words to describe President Bush.

And yes I know your answer. And my answer is the same to you. We say it because it is true and President Obama deserves it. (sarcasm)

(And I've never described Obama as a "chimp" although it is mighty tempting considering libs called President Bush that all the time. The only people I've seen calling Obama a chimp are those who call him that because turn around is fair play, and libs called Bush a chimp all the time. And that's not racist because it has nothing to do with race.)
