    When played in a garage it is called ping pong. At this level it is table tennis and it is a real sport. I played and toured the southeast as a kid playing the sport. I trained with some of the best players in the world including Olga Saultez who was one of the Americans who went to China a part of Nixon's 'Ping Pong' diplomacy in '71.
