The picture isn't from the article. It's from a protest. But it fits what the article says.

    ABC News

President Barack Obama's tax proposal – which promises to increase taxes for those families with incomes of $250,000 or more -- has some Americans brainstorming ways to decrease their pay, even if it's just by a dollar.

A 63-year-old attorney based in Lafayette, La., who asked not to be named, told ABCNews.com that she plans to cut back on her business to get her annual income under the quarter million mark should the Obama tax plan be passed by Congress and become law. ...

"We are going to try to figure out how to make our income $249,999.00," she said. "We have to find a way out where we can make just what we need to just under the line so we can benefit from Obama's tax plan," she added. "Why kill yourself working if you're going to give it all away to people who aren't working as hard?"
Why kill yourself working if you're going to give it all away to people who aren't working as hard?

    EXCELLENT QUESTION.

The answer is - Atlas Shrugged. Who is John Galt?
People aren't going to work just to give their money away.
I predict this will be widespread during the Obama years.

Obama is worse than Jimmy Carter. That's quite an accomplishment.

If leftists didn't have double standards, they'd have no standards at all.

Never fear, the O administration will just lower the level from $250,000 to maybe $150,000.

The new rich won't be $250k or 150k but anyone making over $75k. Like TARP 1 and Stimulus !, the 2nd and 3rd wave of bailouts are coming. Same old same old for the tax increases. You can bet on it. Obama will come out like a smooth talking snake oil salesman blaming Bush and convince those fools that voted for him that tax increases are necessary to stave off a depression. The government needs more of your money so they don't go bankrupt.

The socialists will tax everyone and everything to death to pay for their folly of 'stimulus' packages. They are already taxing the tobacco products to pay for the medical program for children and illegals, what's next booze?

The local socialists in Denver are mulling over a toll road for the main road into Denver International Airport. That should be an interesting battle in the socialist dominated legislature.

Why tax the rich when O can simply tax "carbon output?" Of course, that ends up costing everyone, especially the poor, but he's already demonstrated his approval of that in his increase on tobacco taxes.

It'll be easier to duck under the $250K goal post than it will be to avoid the trickle-down taxes on heating your home, powering your refrigerator and dryer, and driving your car to work.

In actual dollars, President Obama’s $4.4 trillion in deficit spending in just three years is 37 percent higher than the previous record of $3.2 trillion (held by President George W. Bush) in deficit spending for an entire presidency. It’s no small feat to demolish an 8-year record in just 3 years.

Under Obama’s own projections, interest payments on the debt are on course to triple from 2010 (his first budgetary year) to 2018, climbing from $196 billion to $685 billion annually.

I've already said that I will close my business when the tax plan passes. I have every intention of keeping that vow.

I do not need to work and Obama's plan - at least as advertised - will make it no longer worth my while.
I long for the days when our President actually liked our country.

Gov. Charlie Crist is toying with a tax hike on bottled water down here...6 cents a gallon. Not much individually but will generate millions. Booze cant be too far behind now.

“The characteristic of genuine heroism is its persistency. All men have wandering impulses, fits and starts of generosity. But when you have resolved to be great, abide by yourself, and do not weakly try to reconcile yourself with the world. The heroic cannot be the common, nor the common the heroic.”
    Ralph Waldo Emerson

Freedom is the natural yearning of the human sprit as we were endowed by our creator.
