Earth Hour - March 18
> I wanted to share with you something very exciting that a vendor is
> working on that will bring some positive
publicity to St. Louis. It's
called EARTH HOUR.
> The concept started in 2007 by the World Wildlife Fund to draw attention
> to the issue of global warming. This year, on March 28 from 8:30 p.m.
> to 9:30 p.m. cities, businesses and local Iconic structures will turn
> OUT their lights for that hour. In Chicago, they turn out the lights at
> Navy Pier, In SF it's the Golden Gate Bridge, and in Sydney, Australia
> where Earth Hour started, it's the Opera House.
> St. Louis is a participating Earth Hour City this year! Mayor Slay and
> County Executive Dooley have joined the Earth Hour movement. What that
> means is a number of well-known structures in St. Louis will go dark for
> that hour - among them Busch Stadium and St. Louis City Hall. And, the
> most recognizable symbol of St. Louis, will be participating, but it's a
> secret until the official news conference to announce Earth Hour in St.
> Louis on March 11.
> Why am I sending you this note? So you can join in the March 28 Earth
> Hour event!
Turn out the lights of your building and wherever feasible,
> make a statement
with the rest of the world wide community and say
> Global Warming is a real problem and we're taking steps to raise
> awareness of it all over the world.
