I mean honestly . . . .By LEON WATSON
THIS lonely shack is getting no love thanks to “barmy” council guidelines.
Owners Simon and Sheba Cassini are determined to christen their wooden home Love Shack but council bosses say the name is unacceptable.
The artists could only think of one name befitting of their quirky home on Eel Pie Island, Twickenham, when they moved in last August and have been battling with Richmond Council ever since.
The Cassini’s home, a former boat builder’s shed dating back to the 1920s, is currently called The Chalet.
But Simon, 51, and Sheba, 40, say their choice is far more in keeping with the island where other huts are affectionately named Piecrust and Ivy Castle.
