Celebrity Foods Canned Bacon. Although this product hasn't been on store shelves since K-Mart cancelled it more than a decade ago, join us in a opening a can of 20 year old bacon that was still just as fresh today as the day it was canned.

Watch this site for an announcement on the next generation of canned bacon - produced in Ohio under direct license from MREwholesalers.com, the exclusive importers of Red Feather Canned Australian Cheddar Cheese and Red Feather New Zealand Canned Creamery Butter.

    First impressions...

Better than the pre-cooked bacon from the grocery store. Very toothsome without an excessively salty taste or overpowering smoked flavor.

Perfect consistancy for BLT's right out of the can. Crisps up in 30 seconds in the microwave.

The processing got rid of almost all of the grease, just trace amounts on the waxed paper.

Quality 9/10.(Strips could be just a TAD thicker.)

Convienience 6/10. (Some of the strips will invariably tear a little when seperating them.)

The stuff is pretty pricey, but it has a 10 year shelf life... probably you can add 4-5 years to that by keeping it in a cooler temp stable enviroment.

Plus it kicks ass for backpacking and camping for convienience.

    Look at it this way:

Between 2-3/4 and 3-1/4 pounds of raw bacon go into each can. This gets you between 35-40 cooked and drained slices of bacon. Before shipping that comes to a little over 9$ per can.

Raw bacon... 5-6$ for a 2 pound uncooked package that will yield 22-25 slices. Or 3-4$ for less than a pound that will yield you 11-14 slices.

Sorry to keep playing bean counter with you but .Take the low end of each case .
    22 slices of The raw stuff $6.00 devided by 22 = 27 cents/slice
    35 slices of the canned stuff $9.00 devided by 35 = 26 cents/slice plus shipping .
I pronounce it cost effective !Check the math !
