    Stupid little death traps!


    Tiny Smart cars are stacking up at some of the 75 U.S. Smart dealers because people who ordered them are refusing to take delivery.
    Cheaper fuel prices blunt the appeal of Smart's 36 mile-per-gallon rating, and the recession has scared off some who ordered.

    The $99 deposit a buyer must put down to order a car is refundable, so it's easy to say "no."
    I'm sorry, but I hate these shoe boxes on rollerskates! I remember when I was young and a car was on its last legs, we would have a sledge hammer party! $1.00 a swing, much fun and carnage, the owner would get beer money and the junk yard would tow it away for free.

    What could you do when a smartie dies!?! One shot with a sledge would destroy it! :D

    Seriously, when I see one on the road I laugh and want to kick it! :D

    I have to say that they are cute and they make sense as a commuter car. If I had one, I could ride with Mr. Snaps or with Doc but not with both.

    (Just imagine if a Red Panda was driving a Smart Car!)

    I've seen a few around the area, but big 3 cars are still popular in metro Detroit.

    I've seen the smart cars in Royal Oak and Ann Arbor, mostly.

    If I lived in a big urban area, like NYC per se, then I would have no objections to getting a Smart car. Unfortunately, I live in a suburban area and need to haul around things like groceries, people, etc and wouldn't feel safe with the thing on a freeway...not to mention how cramped my 6'0" body would be in that little thing for long commutes!

    Its the most fracking ridiculous car I have ever seen. I am afraid of running one over on the highway with my truck :D
