Just 53% Say Capitalism Better Than Socialism

Thursday, April 09, 2009 Email to a FriendAdvertisement

Only 53% of American adults believe capitalism is better than socialism.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 20% disagree and say socialism is better. Twenty-seven percent (27%) are not sure which is better.

Adults under 30 are essentially evenly divided: 37% prefer capitalism, 33% socialism, and 30% are undecided. Thirty-somethings are a bit more supportive of the free-enterprise approach with 49% for capitalism and 26% for socialism. Adults over 40 strongly favor capitalism, and just 13% of those older Americans believe socialism is better.

Investors by a 5-to-1 margin choose capitalism. As for those who do not invest, 40% say capitalism is better while 25% prefer socialism.

There is a partisan gap as well. Republicans - by an 11-to-1 margin - favor capitalism. Democrats are much more closely divided: Just 39% say capitalism is better while 30% prefer socialism. As for those not affiliated with either major political party, 48% say capitalism is best, and 21% opt for socialism.
I'm guessing the fans of socialism don't really understand how that works.

They would be the morons that think the magic negro is doing a great job. He is actually - at destroying the Republic.

we see now the results of the hippies hiding in academia during the Vietnam War. The educrats are teaching the youth of today that capitalism is bad.

So, the further away from the college atmosphere you are, the more likely you are to reject socialism? Is that suppose to shock me?
I feel that once a black fella has referred to white foks as "honky paleface devil white-trash cracker redneck Caspers," he's abdicated the right to get upset about the "N" word. But that's just me. -- Jim Goad

More like - the younger people are the more likely they are to have been properly indoctrinated by government schools - yet another in the long list of reasons why the left does not want parents to have school choice . . . .

They've been teaching that capitalism sucks for years now! I'll give you an example:

I had an arguement today with a Staff Sergeant (E-6), in his late 30's that said with a straight face that; "Every American should be paid the exact same amount of money".

I asked him if that means a brain surgeon should make the same amount as a guy who works at a Fast Food place, he said yes.

I asked if an illegal immigrant working as a day laborer should make as much as a high school graduate who is a legal citizen, he said yes.

I asked if he thinks I should make the same amount as he does even though he's a higher rank than me, he didn't have an answer for that.

These types of morons are more common than you would think in the Military and it scares the CRAP outta me.

Funny how so many folks love ideas like socialism and whatnot until it's "you" instead of "them". :D

I guess it's a good thing I skipped most of my classes and flunked out of my first shot through college. I got my bachelor's and am about to finish my masters online and haven't dealt with any of that commie garbage. As malleable as I was at 18, who knows what might have become of me.
