    He pitched one season for the Tigers in the 70s, I think it was 1976. I actually saw him pitch a game at Tiger Stadium-back when the seats were green. He had the white man's afro and used to talk to the ball before he'd pitch it-the fans loved him.

    They were reporting on the news that he died accidentally while working on his car.

    He was unbelievable his rookie year. Quirky, fun-loving and incredibly talented. He sold out parks all over the league. One incredible year in the majors and that was it - but man what a year.

    I was listening to Frank Beckman this morning on my way back to the hospital and was stunned to hear he made only $16,000 his rookie season.
    I long for the days when our President actually liked our country.
