A human foot was brought to the Chico State anthropology department for identification after a couple found it while they walked along the Sacramento River on Friday.

The couple discovered the foot while hiking near Dog Island Park in Red Bluff at about 1:37 p.m., said Tehama County Sheriff Clay Parker. The foot, which still had rotting flesh attached to the bones, was found inside a black tennis shoe.

The foot will be put through DNA testing at Chico State's Physical Anthropology Human Identification Lab to determine who the foot belonged to, Parker said. ...

It must be Spring, the severed feet are appearing again.
