You guys were right the last time, that was too much work for just 2 quarts of mix and it wasn't the best. Well I got a recipe from a fellow ELK. Its a secret recipe! They gave me the instructions and only enough secret spice mix to do 24 quarts! The spice mix makes this the bomb! You do not have to add anything but Vodka to have the Perfect Bloody Mary!!!!
I'm using some of this in my meatloaf tonite! :D
Hehe, 50 lbs tomatos, very ripe
12 mixed red, yellow and green bell peppers
12 jalapenos
12 yellow onions
6 Tbsps celery salt
12 Tbsps of the mystery special spice package. ( I would kill to get that recipe!)
Core and squish the tomatos
rough chop the other veggies
Put it all into large pots and boil for 1.5 hours or untill veggies are soft.
Now the work, use a food mill and mill it all!
Put into a fresh pot and bring back to a boil and add the secret spice mix, stir.
Start canning!! I'm in bloody marys for the summer!
I love bubbling food!
