The city of PyungYang we see is a fake. People taking a walk. reading books in the park, fishing at the river. These moments are all part of a bigger scheme.
The real PyungYang is full of starving people. Many NGOs are still shocked by the scenes that take place in North Korea, wondering how these horrors can still happen in the 21st century.
People starving to death,
Hundreds of corpse sprawling across the streets
Thousands of people escaping from this utter madness.
Government arresting and executing any one who defies the order
These are the truths of North Korea. Recently, one of the high level official in the North Korea was executed for the failure in the South-North Korean diplomacy. North Korean government kills anyone who fails to accomplish the objectives.
North Korea is the worst human rights violator in the whole world and they should be ashamed of this.

Lisa Ling did an amazing story about North Korea a few years back. I saw it on Oprah, but I think it was for 20/20, originally. She had to deal with the officials from the government, but even with those limits, she was able to capture the hopelessness and despair the people there felt.
We should shoot down their next missle launch in a way that all their people can see. If Obama doesn't want to do it, he should prevail upon the chinese to do so, or give the japanese a weapon to do it themselves.

Um... Welcome to the party that is the Earth. Everyone already knows that North Korea is a shithole of human rights abuses. For Pete's sake-you can't even take pictures freely from tour buses because they don't want the rest of the world seeing what goes on. The only pictures that have made it out of North Korea are the ones, "Allowed," or the ones that tourists sneak and take (plenty of those stories) or ones that are complete staged propaganda. Nobody is just allowed to roam freely about and document North Korea. That midget Kim Jong Il is a certifiable psychopath that does cute stuff like go golfing and then have his propaganda machine leak to the media that he shot an 18! Yes, an 18-eighteen holes-in-one.. H is son isn't much more sane, so even the next generation could be as crazy as the present.
Theck out these cool photos.

Yeah it is sad they don't have a Walgreens on every corner where there isn't a Starbucks. Or a Wal-Mart every 5 miles to buy crap that is used once or a very short period of time and then discarded or pushed aside in a cluttered house or garage. They don't get to throw away 10 million paper cups and napkins a day or have all the ground and air pollution that comes with it.Where are all the beggars and people without health insurance or educational opportunities? Where are the dead lakes and rivers? Where are the millions of forgotton minorities?
However, like us, they do seem to favor being led by tyrants with very little education.I dont think ANY country displays more patriotism and devotion to the nation than North Korea. This fascinating photoblog is evidence that the more patriotism a country displays, the worse that country treats its people.
Incidentally, America has been a lot more patriotic lately.

Some of the photos at that site look staged, like the ones of official events. Some don't, and in those, the subjects look hungry and malnourished. On top of that, the apartment buildings in the DMZ have no glass in the windows. They look like some of the abandoned buildings in Detroit, in that sense.
