Observation from St. Louis had a high of 97. The ob here at Scott had a high of 95.

That's not taking the heat index into account. That front that went through this morning is helping out a bit. We're supposed to stay in the 80's today.

In actual dollars, President Obamaís $4.4 trillion in deficit spending in just three years is 37 percent higher than the previous record of $3.2 trillion (held by President George W. Bush) in deficit spending for an entire presidency. Itís no small feat to demolish an 8-year record in just 3 years.

Under Obamaís own projections, interest payments on the debt are on course to triple from 2010 (his first budgetary year) to 2018, climbing from $196 billion to $685 billion annually.

In the seventies in the late afternoon and evening, with very little humidity. I sat outside reading, then had drinks and hors d'oeuvre for dinner outside with spouse. Amazing to have this kind of weather in the DC area in July!

I don't know if we have hybrid wheat that stands up better to rain these days, but my dad used to just die when it rained right before harvest...the "bleaching" reduced the weight of the wheat a lot. I'll bet there are lots of farmers pretty unhappy about this weekend's rain.
