That little girl is packing some serious coin for a 9 year old. There are other questions to be asked here. What are her motives. Was she selling girl scout cookies and got jumped by a gang that beat up her fellow girl scout. The morphine and machine gun might be valid purchases. :D

This is the money line in this thread.
Back in the day, it was theoretically possible for a little kid to buy guns, drugs, and ammo. Would the average store owner have sold it to the kid? No. Both sets of rights were in play. The kid to buy and store owner to decline.
Of course, that was back when physical adults actually had common sense.

No, I believe an adult should have the full rights to purchase these things, children should be protected under the law. I am a libertarian, but I would fully support the local government in these sorts of laws for anyone who is not an adult. If the local government allowed it however, I would have no problem with the transaction, but if I'm in the hardware store I need a five minute head start to get the hell away from that kid. :D
So, if I were a legislator, I'd have drafted a law preventing the sale of the machine gun, morphine and probably the ammunition to the child, the adult would be free to do what the hell they want though.

Depends on the submachinegun. If she's going for a TEC-9, she's an idiot gang-banger who knows nothing of quality firearms. If, on the other hand, she's in the market for an HK MP5 or a vintage Thompson, then she has hope for the future. Also, the morphine would probably make her too mellow to hit anything, which is generally not a good thing with something with that cyclic rate of fire. I'd be less worried if she wanted to buy a stimulant that would improve her marksmanship. :D
Ah, but seriously, folks, this is a truly dumb poll. The question, which most politicians are loathe to answer, is whether an adult, as defined by the majority laws of the state in which they reside, and who has a clean record, can walk into a store and purchase a firearm?--Odysseus

Before you can do things for people, you must be the kind of man who can get things done. But to get things done, you must love the doing, not the people!

Make her/him 18 and I vote yes. Just as liquor can be withheld from minors so can other potentially harmful objects.

Since the 9 year old would be with me at the time and not unattended, I would have pointed out the firearm I wanted for a Father's Day gift. Morphine wouldn't be an issue because I would have beat the grease out of her for touching it.
