McCain looks to cut funding for more F-22 jets

"I don't know what would have been worse, having this old RINO or Obama as POTUS !"

WASHINGTON – Sen. John McCain wants to remove the $1.75 billion recently inserted into the proposed 2010 defense budget for more fighter jets from Lockheed Martin. The Arizona Republican's spokeswoman says he plans to file an amendment to cut the extra money for seven more F-22's. The Senate Armed Services Committee last month narrowly approved the additional funding requested by Georgia Republican Saxby Chambliss.

ok...standby while i go back to work tomorrow...my division officer e-mailed me a letter from the captain a few months back about Secretary Gates' proposal to re-shape the DoD...major cuts in advanced technology (F-22's...the DDX program...the LCS program) were evident in it. If i remember right he sent that out before Obama proposed his budget...i remember commenting on how SECDEF saw the writing on the walls...anyway, dont be so quick to take stabs at McCain...hes not alone in this.

But when you have resolved to be great, abide by yourself, and do not weakly try to reconcile yourself with the world. The heroic cannot be the common, nor the common the heroic.”

Some things are mandatory, others are simply political payoffs.

Defense is one of the few things the Federal government is supposed to do.
I long for the days when our President actually liked our country.
