It's refreshing to see black people like this woman who don't think everything is race-based... Blacks cause more racial tension in this country than whites, and this Gates thing with the President mentioning it in his Primetime address just fuels the fire... Race relations are worsening, and the government trying to legislate acceptance and tolerance is only making things worse.Obama-if you're being run out of town, get out in front and pretend that it's a parade!!!

Obama put his foot in his mouth the other night when he commented about the arrest of his friend, Prof. Henry Louis Gates Jr., at his home in Cambridge.
Now the Cambridge cops are fighting back...Against Gates, and Obama, and are demanding an apology from the President himself. I doubt they'll get one, because Obama needed a boost in the polls from those who voted for him based on race alone:
The Cambridge and area police unions voiced their support Friday for Sgt. James Crowley and demanded an apology from President Obama for saying officers "acted stupidly" for arresting black Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. at his home.
"His remarks were obviously misdirected but made it worse yet by suggesting somehow this case should remind us of a history of racial abuse by law enforcement," Dennis O'Connor, president of the Cambridge Police Superior Officers Association, said at a news conference.
"Whatever may be the history, we deeply resent the implications and reject any suggestion that in this case or any other case that they've allowed a person's race to direct their activities. However we hope they will reflect upon their past comments and apologize to the men and women of the Cambridge Police Department."
At a news conference Friday, union leaders said Crowley acted appropriately when he arrested the scholar for disorderly conduct. Police say Gates flew into a rage when officers responding to a report of a burglary asked him to show identification.
Obama said the officers "acted stupidly." Patrick, the state's first black governor, said the arrest was "every black man's nightmare."
White House spokesman Roberts Gibbs said Friday that Obama regrets that the media have gotten all worked up over the controversy and been distracted from other more substantive issues such as health care.
Obama's remarks sparked outrage among many police officers who say the criticism could make it harder for police to work with people of color and set back the progress of race relations that helped Obama become the nation's first black president.
Gates was arrested July 16 by Sgt. James Crowley, who was first to respond to the home the renowned black scholar rents from Harvard, after a woman reported seeing two black men trying to force open the front door. Gates said he had to shove the door open because it was jammed.
He was charged with disorderly conduct after police said he yelled at the white officer, accused him of racial bias and refused to calm down after Crowley demanded Gates show him identification to prove he lived in the home. The charge was dropped Tuesday, but Gates has demanded an apology, calling his arrest a case of racial profiling.
Obama was asked about Gates' arrest at the end of a nationally televised news conference on health care Wednesday night and began his response by saying Gates was a friend and he didn't have all the facts.
"But I think it's fair to say, No. 1, any of us would be pretty angry," Obama said. "No. 2, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home. And No. 3 -- what I think we know separate and apart from this incident -- is that there is a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately, and that's just a fact."

There's NOTHING worse, as far as race relations are concerned, as those who choose to self-segregate, and then go about the world blaming all their ills and the ills of their race, upon every OTHER race.

Got to disagree with you, Moo. She maintains that his neighbors "racially profiled" him and that his neighbors embarrassed him. That is simply wrong.
The neighbors saw......something. Obviously, they didn't see clearly enough to recognize Gates so they simply related to 911 that two black men appeared to breaking into Gates' house. As far as I know, black homeowners aren't magically protected from black burglars.
But even if the neighbors hadn't described the men racially, the police would have done the same exact thing. You want your neighbors to call the cops when they see something funny. You want the police to check your house to make sure a lunatic isn't holding a gun on you or holding a hostage. These are all positive things.
The person at fault here is a typical loud mouth academic who sees an opportunity to cause trouble for somebody who has a real job.

In his astonishing arrogance he now offers to teach the white police Sargent about how to avoid being a racist this after he refuses to identify himself to the police who suspect him of a home invasion !
A neighbor calls to report two men breaking into a home of a man known to be out of town. Now they are calling her a racist because she described them over the phone to the police dispatcher as two black men with backpacks which they were !
If Gates and his companion were both white the police would have followed exactly the same procedure except if they were white they would have been dumped on the ground and handcuffed at the first sign of any resistance .
The police arrive and confront two men in the home and ask for identification as is proper police
procedure in a situation like this.
One of the men,Gates starts to scream about racial discrimination at the top of his lungs so the cop still not knowing who he really is asks him to step out of the house and he,Gates refuses .
The cop calls for support and Gates continues to scream racism out of the front door to a gathering crowd of neighbors who have gathered there .
This whole thing is ridiculous and if it is a ploy cooked up by Rahm Emanuel to distract the country from the Obamacare debate it will fail in the end.
