Cambridge releases Gates arrest 911 tapes

The long-awaited 911 tape and audio of the controversial July 16 arrest of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. are being made public for the first time today, Cambridge officals just announced. “The tapes will speak for themselves,” said Cambridge Police Commissioner Robert Haas. Hass said the tapes will create “some confusion,” but only with police codes you’ll hear but the remainder of the tapes are crystal clear. “It’s in plain language in most part and you can draw your own conclusions,” Haas.
